So I had my dealer install an aftermarket set in my JK. When I got it back I was a bit peeved at the lack of effort put in for installation. I'm not sure what the standard is when it comes to this, but I feel like I would have done 10x better job than these so called professionals. The only reason why I didn't do it myself was because they said any installs not done by them may or may not affect the warranty, and didn't want to chance it. But I am starting to think it's just a marketing ploy. Lesson learned. From now on I am going to do all new installs myself.
They only did the bare minimum and returned the vehicle back to me. All 3 doors were wired to a single remote push for lock/unlock. No progressive unlock, no dome light, no door triggers, no horn honk, no parking light flash - when the module has all of these readily available. The wiring is a mess too.
Looks like they shoved it all in the glove box area and even zip tied the relays onto wires to dangle. No wire looms to protect the harnesses. I really don't want to bring it back to complain, it wouldn't help much and they'd probably butcher it up more. I have already figured and wired the horn honk and flashing parking lights. I still need to connect the other things listed. Thanks for reading this rant. It's a complete marketing ploy when any dealer claims that anything you do will affect the warranty.

There has to be proof that something you did caused a problem for them to deny warranty work. But some dealers are harder to work with than others for sure. I'm with mill on this one. But I also hate my dealer and would never entrust them to do work like this after they butchered my recall on the transmission cooler line. In fact, the shop that did my lift and will be doing my bumpers and SPOD is who i would go to for any future wiring work. They take pride in their work.
I know it is easy to walk away and spend the time to do it yourself to correct the 'technicians' errors or lack of ability but it is important for the Service Manager to know about the poor quality of work coming out of his shop. I would drive it back to the dealer with no appointment and park right in front of the Service Manager's door (if possible) and spend the time with him discussing the poor workmanship and lack of thoroughness by his shop personnel. A good Service Manager will quickly have the ticket writer and the tech in his office to discuss the issue and should try to make it right. If he does not, then a detailed complaint to the General Manager of the dealership is in order as well as contacting 'Jeep Cares' with all the details. Bonuses at many dealerships are directly tied to good evaluations and lack of issues brought to the attention of 'Mother Jeep'. If all else fails, you have the ability to fix it yourself, but there is no reason to let the poor service go without those responsible for it to think they are doing a good job or are getting away with a fast one on a gullible client.

After some running around the net, a trip to my local dealer, a call to my cell provider, a call to Ford Sync Center and being redirected to the Ford remote security help desk that was closed, I'm a bit closer to finding out if this will work in Canada. Dealer finally found the part number. It now is DL3Z-19G364- B.
Gre psr 295 software store. View and Download GRE PSR-295 owner's manual online. Portable Scanner. PSR-295 Scanner pdf manual download.
Note letter changed to B now! They list at 646.80 here plus tax, plus install, plus activation etc.
I guess E-Bay seller might be in order at around $400.00. The parts counter knew nothing of the data activation requirement. They sent me to Service. They were only marginally more aware that a buddy of the service manager had a different system(not Ford) and he has a data plan costing $50.00 per month(what!!!). They suggested I call my cell provider.
Cell provider associate spoke to another associate who has an F150 but had to go thru Microsoft to get it activated. No other details. Called Ford Sync help line. They forwarded me to Ford remote assist help line that's now closed(8:30 - 5:30 est)!!! So I'm maybe one step away from finding out the answer. I'll update tomorrow when I hear what they say. Time for a Mike's!!!Man you didn't listen.
Now what are you gonna do? I may be able to get you out of this mess you've gotten yourself into. I'm not making any promises BUT since I've managed to get my hands on some Canadian Mike's Hard Lemonade I'll try to forego that step for you.
You are lucky that my Canadian buddies brought some down with them. You are not out of the woods yet though.
Proceed with what you are doing and if it works out then you'll know I was successful and you will owe me BIG TIME. If it doesn't work out then we'll have to take other actions but it'll cost you more than some Mike's.be prepared to send me Trish Stratus. There are some things that Canada just flat out got RIGHT. So I'm looking for Remote Access assistance, and I sincerely hope I'm not being redundant here.
So I just picked up a '13 Eco SC XLT Max Tow. (Off topic, LOVE it so far.all 600 miles ) It did NOT come from River Rouge with a remote starter installed. So I decided to go the Remote Access route. Prior to ordering my RA kit I went online looking for installation instructions.
I came across this link. The directions are limited when it comes to part numbers. Looking at these instructions it leads me to think everything comes in a kit.
So I head off to the Ford accessory web page for the F150 and I find part number DL3Z-19A390-B. I ordered this number and it arrived today. To my dismay, the only item in the box is the Remote Messaging Unit (RMU). No 'Y' harness, no remote start module (RMST).
I checked my truck and it does not have these items either. So my question is, where do I go from here? The Ford web site states I need Security Module DL3Z-19A361-A, but I have no idea what is included. I don't want to wait another week and half and find out I need to order something else. Will I need a TPM Antenna Kit as well, p/n DA8Z-15603-A, as well?
Does DL3Z-19A390-B + DL3Z-19A361-A = DL3Z-19G364-A or DL3Z-19G364-B.whatever the revision level maybe? Thanks for the help in advance!!

Thanks for the help in advance!!I listed the part numbers for everything you'd need in post #8 in this thread.
Check it out and compare it to what you have. There are only two part numbers to complete the entire package of what you'll need. I got mine from my dealership's parts department. On the box it says 'Remote Access Kit' and the part number is DL3Z-19G364-A. The Parts Manager emailed me the installation instructions.
I also had to get a 'TPM Antenna Kit', part number DA8Z-15603-A. It is unclear as to whether or not all trucks will need the antenna kit. Its possible that you may have this part on your truck already depending on what keyless/alarm/remote start system came with your truck. This is a brand-fricken-new option and the parts people don't have much info to share.Did your truck come from the factory with remote start? After talking with Ford, that appears to be the need for the TPM antenna. Trucks that doe Not have factory remote start will require it.
Phantom V3 Professional Flight
Also, did the security portion of your kit plug into the DLC?Again Ford is stating that is where it goes, but the directions I posted previously show it exclusively connecting to the TPM module. Can you post or email me the directions your shop gave you for installing this kit?

On the website, it says you must buy Vehicle Security System: Part No: DL3Z-19A361-A, did you have that already, did you also buy it, or do you need it. I just purchased a 2013 Platinum 4X4 and would like to keep it. I live in a area that is #1 to #3 in stolen vehicles in the U.S. I already have the remote start so I think I won't need the antenna, but is this just to use the cell phone to operate the truck, or is it an actual security system. I have seen the same type of system through Viper, that one has GPS tracking etc.
But may not use the same remote that comes with the key fob from Ford. I want an alarm system, and GPS tracking or LoJack or something like that. But I also don't want a bunch of remote key fobs in my pocket. I would prefer to use the Ford Key fob since it is part of the key itself. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks a bunch in advance. I ordered the part numbers that I listed earlier in this thread. One of them is the antenna and the other is the remote start unit. If you already have the proper antenna then you won't need that part. I have not looked at what is available on the website. When I did my system it had not been put on the website yet.
I do not know if your key fob remote would still start your truck but if I had to guess I would say yes. My system seamlessly integrated with the factory keyless entry. I am actually thinking of trying a remote-start key fob and seeing if that would work on my system. The Cell phone system does not come with any fobs but in my case it did not prevent my original fob from working.
The system did also add some security features that converted the keyless entry system to a full alarm system. When I did my system it was so new that the parts manager nor service manage knew anything about it. I ordered the part numbers that I listed earlier in this thread.

The parts people said they were going to have to order it to see what's in it. It sounds like this health care mess we are in.
The only good thing is that they said that they will order it and if it does not do what I want it to do, they would refund me. I was just hoping to not waste time with ordering something if it is not going to work. I just wish Ford had more info on what they are selling.
Hi.I recently became the owner of a Jeep Cherokee Country (aging at 1994, but still running nice and strong).but when I got the car the previous owner told me that after replacing the ignition (the key for which unlocked the doors) the 'door' key was lost. There is a two-button fob for keyless entry, and I thought the battery was dead. Bought a new battery and found when I opened the fob that a vital part was missing.a piece of metal (obviously a spring since without it the battery just rattles around).managed to jury-rig it with foil, but would like to get a better fob. Autozone has a Bulldog for $39.99+, but it looks like some installation is required. Has anyone here ever installed a Bulldog or similar keyless entry, and if you have can you tell me how big a hassle it will be? Thanks for your help! I have done a couple of these keyless entry systems as well as several full up alarm/remote start systems.

The keyless entry systems are just 'lite' versions of the alarm systems that still require several important connections to the car's systems like lock circuits, switched and unswitched 12v, ground, etc. They also can take a siren and a flashing LED. It all depends on your comfort level and ability to ferret out details of your car's systems. I have used these DEI Valet 712t keyless systems with good luck. This Amazon link has them as well as the Bulldog and a couple others. They are probably all similar. For a few $ more you could get an alarm system that has keyless and not install or activate the alarm functions but leave you the ability to do that in the future if you want.
The only real difference for a basic alarm system is connections to the door courtesy light circuit and installation of a plug and play shock sensor. That doesn't add too much complexity. There are many of these to choose from.
